CFDICT is a free downloadable Chinese to English database dictionary with pronunciation in pinyin for the Chinese characters.
CFDICT is based on the CC-CEDICT project started in 1997 by Paul Denisowski himself inspired by the Japanese project - English EDICT.
In 2009 "Chine Informations" began to build this database.
This project is distributed under a "Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported".
The basic format of the XML encoded file of CFDICT is :
